  • I started listening to Rush Limbaugh back in 92. I have always found it useful to listen to the biggest name on the conservative side so I can know what arguments are being used. Know thy enemy and all that.

Back in the day it meant tuning in at a specific time for three hours. Now we have the benefits of podcasts you can listen to whenever you want and at 2.5x speed so an hour takes 24 minutes.

I have listened to Ben for a long time. I’ve seen his attitude on Trump change. He knows that Trump has no political philosophical foundation. He knows that ethically he is just like Andrew Tate, a guy he tried to say nice things about once and failed. He used to do a segment called Good Trump Bad Trump where he would find something he agreed with Trump on and something where Trump was an idiot.

Then he stopped. Then he started fundraising for Trump. He found it harder and harder to find something negative to say about a guy he clearly loathes from an ethical base. He can still be extremely critical of the tariffs issue but on every other topic he will dance around any negative he might have.

And dancing is what he is good at. His ability to make sure he always misrepresents his opponents is amazing. Turn on any of the great dystopian radio speeches from movies or TV and he sounds exactly like them in his words. Except he has a higher pitched voice that’s never going to get him a job in Hollywood.

And he so desperately wants to be Hollywood. He is spending a lot of time and money trying to make his own TV and movie production company. He has the script movies like Run Hide Fight. The epics like whatever his king Arthur thing was, to kids programming.

And all of it starts with hammering Christian values first and then building a story around it. Even though he isn’t Christian and is constantly putting him self in danger by doing business with the dumbest and most anti-semitic people out there like Candace Owens. Because he believes that the enemy of your enemy is a potential profit center. He doesn’t realize he is feeding his enemies that will destroy him because he always thinks he is the smartest guy in the room.

I keep thinking I need to find a co-host and do a Know Rogan or Knowledge Fight version of Ben Shapiro. Because even at 2.5x speed I can dismantle his positions and know where he used to be on topics.

  • What an unfortunate thing to happen on free eggs night.

I can tell you that the show has definitely gotten worse. I listen every day and while in the past his shows were master lessons in spin and half truths lately they have become increasingly dumb on multiple levels. If it’s not making every excuse possible for Trump it’s new content like his staff plays some classical music from a movie score and he guesses what it is. There are whole episodes of that in the last six months. And his Oscar coverage did not just exist (which it shouldn’t have) but each and every time it was part of an ad for betting app prediction markets. The value of the show, as small as it was before, is crashing rapidly.

  • Remember when giving Iran money was a thing MAGA hated?

They will always forget everything they ever held true the moment Trump changes his mind. Maybe first they will deny it’s real. But after they do accept it they will promptly say that it is totally worth giving Iran the money. They might even try to get clever and say “we aren’t paying them. We are giving them their own money from frozen accounts” without any awareness that the pallets of money Obama sent Iran was exactly the same thing. Because they are incapable of holding a constant belief.

  • This has gotten stupid. I agree with you overall. I’m against AI slop and the problems that come with it. But this is a direct response to an AI generated thing in the political news. The desired goal isn’t possible without it looking like the original it is a parody of. I didn’t make it. I found it, or more accurately, a friend sent it to me. It existed regardless of my actions.

I shared it because it would make any Trump defender instantly see why the original was a problem because of its subject matter even if they thought it was fine before.

I’m not going to argue any pro AI in gender stance. But I will point out a bad or lazy argument and your 2 million gallons a day thing was so disproportionate to the scale of this one piece that it deserved to be pinged out.

Hate AI, I’m probably with you on 99.99% of your stance. But don’t argue with me using bad arguments. Don’t blame me for it existing. Don’t assume I think I’m a hero (that argument doesn’t even make sense). This whole conversation is like the Narcissism of Small Differences brought to life and it’s dull.

One image is less environmentally and socially impactful to energy and water resources than shipping seven tubes of paint and a canvas halfway around the world and you know it. To argue otherwise is disingenuous.

End this because it’s wasting both our time. Go argue with someone who actually wants AI and uses it. Go find the person that put the prompt in to create this one. Go plant a tree. But find something productive to do because I already agree with you too much for you to make any progress with.
