The left does not want religion gone. Some athiests do and another chunk would not mind if it did but that is not the entirety of athiests or the left. Now The large majority want freedom from religion which means it keeps its things with its followers at their private places and does not throw it into the public square (which ironically goes with some of jesus’s teaching and should be supported by christians) . That is about god exists believe X, Y, Z, and not about preferential ways of govenoring or how how society works… As you say working toward a society with robust social safety nets and common sense social welfare is just something non hypocrite christians should be doing.

My current golden is smarter and better trained than my last. Thing is she just does not have impulse control when she has something she likes so like can’t keep her from jumping on people. Its like if anythig is within 10 ft of her obeying goes to zero. Really its like she would want to but all the brain juice just clears everything away. The other thing is she absolutely hates noises she can’t determine the cause of. She does a bit better if I open the balcony and sit with her there but the further away we are the worse she gets. Its like with dogs. one is barking and snarling in her face. no prob. one is barking from a balcony and she can’t pinpoint where. run away! run away!

Yeah was gonna reply with something like this but you give a good example. I was just thinking how smartphones went from being a rich persons toy to a “necessity” where you are a pariah for not using one. Seriously I have to constantly say I don’t use smartphones in almost every business interaction I do nowadays and I get like annoyed reactions.

I don’t think phones are a scapegoat. Its sensible to not allow them during instruction. I could not pull out a portable tv or calculator when I was in class. It is easy enough to simply not allow them though and I for the life of me don’t get why that is controversial.

It seems so wierd to me for a college to gift land to the state its in. Especially a community college. Usually its the other way around. It is going to be hilarious though if donny boys pres library is basically on a community college while obamas is essentially right off university of chicago one of the most prestigious in the country. classic. This is an issue I have as an ops guy. Things will ask about language experience and its like well I have done shell scripting and a bit of javascript and python but its ad hoc. Its small scripts or editing existing things. So its like yes im knowledgable about how to code and the syntax of some language but I have not written full time. So im like look im not a coder. I have not written code for >50% of my time at positions at any point. I can see why it would attriphy. Ironically reviewing code or making small changes is more in line with what I have done in the past.
