Just set up a separate set of awards for AI artists and creators. Meat-bags and non-meat-bags can tune in if they care.
Win win for everyone.

I cross posted this to [email protected], I hope that was ok! I figured it would be good to spread the knowledge

Why wouldn’t they, it doesn’t seen like anyone is facing consequences for it.

News headlines are usually worded in a way that’s accessible to most people, and then the article can go into detail about the topic. The other commenter said nothing about how products should or shouldn’t be named. By “the wrong thing”, they likely meant “things that the average person can recognize, but is not the best way to introduce the topic”.
People who haven’t heard of Forgejo will scroll past a headline that says “The German government has started a Forgejo instance”, even if they were interested in the topic. They could have also said “code repository”, but it’s not as eye catching as “GitHub”, a name and logo that a lot of people have seen before.
Also GitHub is the incumbent that is being replaced, and is relevant to the discussion

That comment is helping potential users vet your project before they use it, since not everyone has the motivation to go into the repo and take a look

Did they also promote the attribution removal?

America already decides to tariff countries regardless of what they’re doing

Why don’t you just implement federation normally instead of taking this roundabout way of doing things? As long as your site contributes content back, and makes it clear where content is from, other projects like piefed and lemmy would be happy to have your project join the network.
Continuing like this will likely get you IP blocked from wherever you’re mirroring content from.
Also these platforms are open source. You are allowed to copy and modify things for your own projects, as long as you follow the basic rules in the license.

What happens in family game night stays in family game night

I haven’t seen that yet

Why do the same thing every morning when I could spend that time on something else?
I don’t think this is the same thing as a loss of attention span

YouTube began as an angel-funded enterprise working from a makeshift office in a garage. In November 2005, venture firm Sequoia Capital invested an initial $3.5 million,[20] and Roelof Botha (a partner of the firm and former CFO of PayPal) joined the YouTube board of directors. In April 2006, Sequoia and Artis Capital Management invested an additional $8 million in the company, which had experienced significant growth in its first few months.
Is there a robust test suite?
Merge, test, merge, test, patch, merge, test
Oh good point 🤦
So maybe instead, we can clear all local + remote branches and tags, create a blank branch, delete main, rename the blank branch to main, then delete .git
Although the OP says that we can merge anything, and we might not have access to mess with branches
Goodbye fedecan.ca
What if you distributed the tool under the normal channels, and then used gumroad (or anything similar) to sell an optional key that adds a little visual indicator or removes a nag message. I’ve seen a few other open source projects do that. Grayjay for example
