For the general population of mice, yes.

Any friends in other countries, who may bring you the laptop?
Have you considered other sellers? Slimbook? System76? Framework? Etc.

0·26 days agoSo you want these kids, who killed somebody in cold blood, have TV, gym and fun in the prison in order to convince them that it is a bad idea to do it again, because they may end up in the same situation? Sorry, I was almost choking from laughing.

Europe@feddit.org•Sweden mulls prison for young teens as violent crime risesEnglish
0·26 days agoThey are not writing what kind of prisons are these. I hope that these kids have to do each day from very early in the morning to the late evening hard work with two times per day just water, a cheap soup and cheap bread. Nowhere a gym with games, TV and good food. I am convinced that next time they will think twice to do harm to somebody.
Actually, Russia has vast natural resources, but much of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of oligarchs. The post-communist period in Russia was marked by violent power struggles between oligarchs, often involving private militias or hired hitmen targeting rival businessmen. Perhaps it just wasn’t as visible in the US.
BTW, do not forget that most rich men in the US (Elon, Mark, Jeff) are rich on paper (stock market, company shares), while Russian millionaires have real physical control over resources or industries (eg Vladimir Potanin - rare earth elements, Vagit Alekperov - oil, Leonid Mikhelson - gas).
You can try to say this in a crowd of the followers of the religion of peace about their prophet. Hope you can run fast and you have a place to hide.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft's GitHub bans security researcher who posted zero-day Windows exploits because company 'ruined their life' — expert claims action is vindictive and promises further retaliationEnglish
2·1 month agoYou can well imagine that this reaction will fall on fruitful ground that some security experts will think twice about sending it to M$ or better selling it on the dark web, especially zero day exploits! Hell, boy, Microsoft does not seem to know with whom they are messing with.
AFAIK on Reddit you get BANNED right away. If you are lucky for few days, otherwise eternally.
Finns are like „hold my beer”: Neighbours stand at the same bus stop for years on the way to work without exchanging a single word.
I remember also being in Tromsø and getting a little book about the do’s and don’ts in Norway. One piece of advice in it stuck with me: only speak when you actually have something worth saying.
Love the North and the Nordics.
May be something like Russia after the fall of communism or like Mexico with all its cartels and private armies?

You don’t have such fields in openrc, runit or S6.

Europe@feddit.org•Girl, two, dies after being left in car as extreme heat sweeps SpainEnglish
3·1 month agoI would say that you don’t leave any living being in the car, which is not capable to opening the door with ease by itself, when temperatures are elevated outside!!! This counts for elderly, immobile or physically or mentally disabled people as well as for any animal - dogs die often due to leaving them alone in the car when it’s hot, sometimes the window slightly open, though this does not help.
So, please, take action if you see anybody or any animal suffering in a car, because it is hot. In some countries you can call the police.
