Belgium bans imports from occupied Palestinian territories

The federal government, in its last meeting before the holidays, reached agreements on a range of dossiers, such as the import ban from the occupied Palestinian territories and the annualisation of working hours. The social agreement for Defence, the minimum service levels in prisons, and the introduction of the family credit also received approval.

    They need to ban imports from Israel in general. Exports too, for that matter.

    Why would anyone trust Israel to say that a given trade good was not produced in occupied Palestine when it could still be the result of resource extraction from the region? Or on the exports front, that goods exported to “Oslo accords” Israel won’t simply be moved to Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine some point after arrival?
