    Considering Chat Control 1.0 just “temporarily” passed until 2028 via a loophole (see here), it might ironically be of benefit to have your connections not going exclusively through the EU.

      Yeah I was gonna say, I really favored EU data residency for a lot of different reasons, including GDPR which was basically a selling point for users; but it’s effectively dead to me until they fix this shit. The repeated attempts to push it through is just too risky and we’ve already had customers get skittish

        Because other jurisdictions have mo such scanning?

        As far as I recall not the US, and definitely not China, so the more appealing alternatives may be some smaller country.

    I am using namecheap. I guess mostly out of habit. Anyone with recommendations for European dns providers?

      I’ve used ovh and am currently using deSEC. Haven’t had issues with either, but ovh offers a lot more than just DNS of course. deSEC is nothing more than a (free) DNS provider.

    My small server: indian hosting, server located in France, .eu from a french registrar, and yet it shows US for hosting and email
