I could, but I don’t live near an airport, so I have to leave home roughly 4 hours before my flight departs to account for driving, parking, and airport security. So 4 + 8 = 12 hours without food, and that’s not even counting waiting for bags and getting to your destination on the other side of the flight.

Doesn’t seem like a lot. Not like any significant energy is being expended sitting in the plane

You clearly haven’t flown much, with people depending on you, or with any significant amount of luggage.

I have. Literally travel for work every quarter plus normal family/vacation flying. Just because you can’t control your overeating doesn’t mean that I’m wrong.

You must be a great travel companion.

Lol where did I say I control anyone’s eating? I was taking about myself only. But. You know I’ve mentioned PBJ for a reason. Because when I travel with my kids I pack them lunch. No big deal. Takes 5 minutes, saves oodles of time and aggravation. On the way back grab something from hotel breakfast if available.
