When tsa was new, and they first came out with tsa-compatible luggage “locks” ….
I left my luggage locks on the zipper pull, not locking anything … they cut them off! And left a nasty note inside my luggage about non-standard “locks”
I did try the standard “locks” once, although they seemed more useless than ordinary suitcase locks. Yep, they cut them off
