    If you remove your data from one website you know of the data brokers can still sell it to millions of others

    So lets abolish all laws on the books because people still break them? That doesn’t make sense.

    This bill that got signed into law is a waste of time

    For who?

    Data brokers will now have to navigate this law and enforce it or face fines at significant cost to their business model; your data is worth ~$200 a year and they would be fined that much per day if they don’t comply. And audits are coming to ensure compliance. So yes, it will be a big waste of time, but not for us. It’s data brokers who will need to ensure they’re enforcing the policy or face fines that well exceed the cost of business.

    Lastly, California started it but now other states are looking to implement similar laws, so its only going to get better.
