No need for Claude Code, Cursor, or other proprietary American counterparts
Local devstral works with OpenCode too (although personally I have better results with glm-4.7-flash)
I’ll try to give vibe’s CLI UI a shot though, as OpenCode feels a bit heavy and janky to me sometimes, it occasionally crashes the VSCodium terminal I use it in.
Either way, it’s great to have a free, local and sovereign option.
Vibe works great.
I use the remote devstral in XCode and in Vibe cli. All my latest commits are vibe commits (vommits) now.
Need to wait for new hardware but feature-wise running the local model is supported.
Try pi.dev. It’s also open source and works fast and without all those bells and whistles.
I used it in emacs with agent-shell, it was pretty alright. Performed a refactor that I anticipated for a long time (in OCaml), and it did mostly ok.
