    This isn’t about people using as little oil as possible.

    This is about domestic producers being able to maximize profit off of their product.

      Trucking companies only look at the numbers. A truck uses 35-50 l/100km. So 1€ higher diesel prices make a massive difference for an operator. An electric truck is like 100k€ more expensive then a diesel one. So if a truck drives 700km a day, then it takes like two years for the electric truck to make the money back the 1€ higher diesel price creates., if charging is very cheap.

      So this matters.
