  • I’m fascinated by the idea that you live in some land where black women don’t wear tank tops and themselves think it would be racist to depict them doing so. I live in Oklahoma where black women are happily and commonly wearing tank tops all around and they don’t seem to be apologetic or ashamed of their doing so. Separate but equal dress codes seems a bit racist imo

  • There’s also the matter of protests not being intended to make onlookers “fist pump” or be excited. They’re SUPPOSED to be uncomfortable, they’re supposed to make people upset or inconvenience their day, or else they can just be ignored. What’s the point of just making people happy or go about their day? That’s not a protest, that’s just doing random shit like every other day.

  • People often forget that kingdoms and fiefdoms and empires and military states are types of governments. And they suck to live in. People got so comfortable and distanced from our ancestors fighting against those forms of governments that they’re unknowingly and some knowingly fighting to return to them. You want a strong daddy type to crush his political enemies, to raid the coffers because he can and has complete control over the political bodies, judicial system, institutions, and people? Congrats, you now have a mad king, the kind your ancestors defeated because it was so oppressive and deadly to live under.

  • That, and they grossly underpay their workers, including by undoing the American tradition of subsidizing wages with benefits like healthcare, vacation time, childcare, education, etc. - healthcare shouldn’t be tied to one’s work load, but if it’s going to be taken away, they should be paid by law enough to avoid falling on the state or emergency rooms or death avoidably, needlessly because billionaires want as much profit as possible at the expense of their worker’s welfare.

If a company and their owners are paying too little to their workers, if too many are on welfare, can’t afford healthcare or the basic needs, the company and owners should be penalized so hard they are compelled to do what’s right for the society they benefit and profit from though that labor and use of resources. If they fail, break up the company, sell it off, or close it down - just don’t make the penalty a rounding error that becomes just the cost of doing business as usual.
