  • I’m thinking the magatards who cannot even remember what they said they stood for yesterday have permanent erections from things like: fighting “woke”, crushing any remaining dissent in media and entertainment, bombing fishing boats, starting a war with Iran, threatening most of our allies, and most of all, kidnapping and disappearing brown people while shooting protesters.

Will it do them any good at all? Nope. If they were living in a trailer and eking out a miserable existence before, they still will be. It will most likely be even more miserable since things like food and health have been ripped away from many Americans. But at least they get to whoop it up over breaking the country and making others’ lives miserable.

  • Exactly. W won a second term largely due to 9/11, I’d wager. He started off as extremely divisive and polarizing. Most people were at least deeply sus of him, if not considering him entirely illegitimate. The economy starts to implode.

Fast forward a few months, 9/11 happens, and most of the Murc’s Law Media is falling all over themselves to prostrate before W. People acting like not voting for Republicans is not supporting the troops, or whatever the fuck.

Without 9/11, I don’t see how that guy would have had a second term.

I could easily see a repeat here if there was some big terrorist event that they could blame on Iran. The real blame should lie with Pedonald and his maladministration for attacking Iran and doing a shit job on security here, but we have way too many idiots in this country that operate like windsocks.

  • Yes, that’s so true. I remember coming into a small amount of money and had been saving a little bit, and had just paid off a ridiculously long car loan on a used car - still one of the dumbest financial decisions I had made in my youth - 5.5 years on a used car, WTF was I even thinking, LOL.

Anyway, I was itching to buy some new car possibly, as I had never bought new. Someone handed me a book about finances and the author reiterated what my parents had always tried to drill into my head - about the only worthwhile debt is real estate.

For cars, he had this notion of “paying yourself” the car payment once you pay off a car. Do that for many years, and use that savings for your next car, preferably used, about 2 or 3 years old, after which the depreciation has had the steepest drop.

So I skipped buying something new or used. For so many reasons, I am glad my co-worker lent me that book at that particular time.
