The gist is that once the firehose of falsehoods are in full effect, they will start funding and participating in rival political groups, and then even admit it later. The ultimate goal is to make everyone fed up with politics and checkout. The AI and social media issues are going to make this even worse now.

This follows the same old conservative playbook of sabotaging and defending an agency that they hate (because it actually has enforceable rules for the rich) and then complain about it’s ineffectiveness while trying to convince you rules to close it down.
