Proton has worked really well for me, 90% of my games just work. But the final 10% dont and that is something I miss.

There is proton and protondb which are great tools I use all the time, just not as good as not having to worry about compatibility at all.
Much better game compatibility and not having to worry if a game will work or not. Although in some ways it’s part of the fun.
Even if that is the way they chose, if it means games are compatible I dont see an issue.
But I don’t think they will, ultimately if games are properly compiled esspecially for linux they will be better than wine, and of course game devs want there game to run as fast as possible.
Proton is filling a role until Linux gets popular enough. Once there is enough demand for Linux, devs will start making games with Linux support in mind meaning more well compiled native games. While proton is very good it’s far from perfect and devs will want people to have the most seamless experience possible with their game.

1·5 days agoOk if your point was that woman are not oppressed in public then you proved that very well.
Wow I had no idea.
I mean neither of the other people in the challenge are having issues, because there using Bazzite and Cachyos. Not Popos.
For games use proton
In case you dont know its a fork of wine designed specifically for games.

1·7 days agoDid you link the right video? How is a walkthrough of the National archive in Iran related to oppressing woman?
Forgive my ignorence if does somehow obviously proove something.
I mean Linus’s windows just completely bug out and he has so many other issues. When is he going to realise that no one else is having these issues. He says he’s cursed but he just keeps on using Popos and he keeps on having problems.
We need to agree on a better way to get new users to easily chose a new Distro without having horrible choice paralysis. Asking AI doesn’t work, asking reddit or lemmy just starts a massive debate and gets the person asking nowhere.
Perhaps just refer everyone to nicks latest tier list although that is really for his use case, I mean he doesn’t even have bazzite on the list when it’s a good choice for a lot of people. Maybe there is a website that asks questions and recommends a distro based on that, or maybe I saw a cool flow chart photo that seamed good, but it’s an image so it won’t update itself when people come back to it later and the recomendations change.
I’m so mad he chose Popos again. I really hope he realises how not for his use case it is and just uses something else for the next videos.
I’m really happy with Luke and Elijah’s distro choice, Bazzite and Cachyos actually seams perfect for each of there use cases.
Also as much as most of us don’t like his content we still need to care about it. Millions of people rely on Linus for his recommendations. He could probably single handedly create the year of the Linux gaming desktop on his own if he gives Linux the thumbs up.

1·3 months agoI don’t really take issue with dozens of posts by newbies asking the same basic question over and over. I used to be one and am occasionally back there again if I start a new hobby. Hopefully newcomers don’t get pushed off by overly sensitive moderation.
I’m not sure if I agree with this, unless you need clarification on something specific the forum like nature and search should allow you to find answers to previous questions without asking it again.
But I do agree overmoderation is bad. I swear if communities start implementing a karma system…

I dont think we can agree on one distro, there are too many compromises. But we should agree on one resource. Not sure what though.
