Is there any competition or is this the first of its kind for Docker? Curious as I’m new to self-hosting.

Even if altruistic, your proposal to “ban it” is not consistent with free and open societies.
Also do you realize what we’re communicating on now can be considered social media. Should this be banned too?
“I don’t like xyz; ban it.” – that’s the same reasoning that ends up banning prolific books to “keep us safe.”

For those of you not aware of details like me, here’s a summary. One of the protestors shot a cop with an AR-15. I can’t see a proper justification as to why the rest of them received such harsh sentences though.
After a three-week jury trial, the nine activists were all found guilty of a slew of criminal charges in March, stemming from a Fourth of July protest at an immigrant detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, south of Fort Worth. The demonstrators arrived late at night with a plan to set off fireworks as part of a noise demonstration to show solidarity with those detained inside. A few of the protesters spontaneously broke off from the main group and vandalized cars in the parking lot, a guard shack, slashed the tires on a government van and broke a security camera. When a police officer arrived on the scene and drew his weapon, one of the activists fired an AR-15, hitting the officer in the shoulder. The officer survived.
Nope not me. The masses just must be demanding it! 🙃
Does the update allow viewing tracks/routes for family member devices?
The workaround I’ve employed is simply logging into my wife’s account and her logging into mine to see detailed info, but if we had kids or more family members then it would be nice to get full tracks/routes and not only live location.
I set this up a week or two ago and have been quite pleased besides this hiccup. Thanks for all of your hard work!
(Also, for anyone curious I do like Colota on Android for the device tracking portion to accompany Dawarich.)
Does the new Dawarich mobile app show family member location now? Do you have plans for that? Visiting a web page on mobile isn’t ideal :)

Can someone post the full article in a comment? I tried workarounds to read the full article but nothing worked.

Do you know if it works well with GrapheneOS?
Does it use http or MQTT?
I was using Traccar and that worked well until moving to GOS and then background updates wouldn’t work.
I tried owntrack and nextcloud but never got it to work.

I made the same comment as you and got downvoted too lol
Apparently people know something about Brave search that we don’t.

People love syncthing but I spent about 20-30 min on setup and found it confusing once I got beyond 2 devices. There are a couple comments in this thread between me and someone else about different setup options with syncthing.
I have been relatively happy with folder sync pro and nextcloud though. It’s worth noting that changes only instantly push when they’re made on Android first. If you edit/add/remove a file that’s in a synced folder from a computer, then folder sync pro on Android will simply use the sync interval that you set (I have mine at 15 min and have seen no battery hit, can set it down to 5 min). You can also just manually hit the sync button in FSP. But that was just one element that I was troubleshooting and thought sync was broken, but nope, that’s just how it works depending on what device did the edit/add/remove.

How do you set up syncthing with a host/client configuration?
I planned on setting it up with 5 devices but as soon as I got to 3 devices I started having issues and didn’t like the structure conceptually of “everything syncs to each other” vs having a “source of truth” with 2-way sync.
TBF my issues with syncthing were probably user error but still frustrated me enough that I bailed.

I’ve been using Brave Search for 6 months and surprisingly happy with it. I never really liked DDG.

It took about 2 days of using nextcloud files across devices to experience unreliable syncing from Nextcloud on Android.
I installed folder sync pro on android and that has helped a lot, but it still irks me to use 2 tools when 1 should do the job.

A lot of my friction moving from 1PW to BW was due to TOTP (2fa codes) being stored inside 1PW.
So now that I have those codes in a different service than my password manager, I hope it’s a less painful process as you describe.

I pay for Proton but still hesitate to move passwords there because I could easily see Proton developing a penchant for sniffing their own farts.
I JUST fucking moved from 1PW to BW and super irritated at the prospect of moving again so soon. Sellouts.
Nice. I’d like to change Linux distros on my server but the main thing holding me back was all my containers, sidecars, reverse proxies, etc. If I could easily back up and restore that would be amazing.
