    I don’t think this is AI tbh. Crap like this is where AI learned to talk like that. I’ve been getting these kind of emails way before LLMs were a thing

      Yeah this screams templated email to me. You don’t need an AI to sound generic, you can just use a generic template. With the number of emails they send out I seriously doubt they want to spend the money on rejection emails generated by an AI.

        There’s no space between the dash though. AI does em dash like – this, and the email did it like–this.

          That’s not an em dash in your comment. In the email it looks to be an em dash.

          Here are the three dashes: em dashes (—), en dashes (–) , and hyphens (-)

          It’s the width that makes the em dash so noticeable in ai content.

    I’d feel more considered if I’d gotten no email at all

    I hate when I get ghosted. A rejection email lets me close the loop with that company and move on. Otherwise, I feel like “there’s still a chance!” and that’s worse.
