I actually met one of those “gas prices are lower now with trump than with biden, it’s only $3 a gallon” maga morons. best part to show how delusional this idiot was? we were both at a gas station filling up gas that cost $5 a gallon cash ($5.13 if card).

This leaves an obvious opening for the next Democratic challenger. And the Republican candidate too, if they’re got the guts to go anti-MAGA.

As the article quite correctly points out, Trump got elected because Dems patted themselves on the back while the man on the street was hurting, and Trump said ‘I see you, we’ll bring your job back’.

Now the tables have turned. So in 2028 whichever candidate most says ‘I see you’, they’ll win.

Donald Trump and the Republicans are insisting the economy is great and unhappy Americans are deluded. Just like Democrats under Joe Biden, they’re lying to themselves and everyone else — and will eventually pay the price.

Not until the rest of us have paid way more than they EVER will.

We live in a company town now. Every cent that comes in goes right back out. No savings. No retirement. Our paychecks are picked apart by fees, middlemen, subscriptions to things we used to own, corporations forcing us into choose to pay for everything or figuratively live in a cave disconnected from society. CoL and inflation increases that pay never keeps up with, working more hours, harder, with less people, for stagnant pay, and never getting a break or vacation.

Broke doesn’t mean living in a box under a bridge. You can still have the trappings of modern life, but be a complete slave to the grind with no end in sight.

they actually believe it will be stopped in the adminstration, just like his 1st. this time around DEMs have no control over the govt, plus the old guard dems are very complicit to this adminstration.

Indeed…+1. Whenever an American tells me that shit, I ask them why hunger still exists in the USA along with the extreme poverty.

What is the meaning of “the richest country in the world,” anyways? Highest digital numbers in bank? The phrase has always been so deceptive

Which part of the USA’s enormous debt makes it the richest country? They’re paying $2b per day just on interest repayments and have a national debt of over $30 trillion. At present the debt far exceeds GDP so I would say the USA is broke.

The problem with debt is you need some material thing to offset it. If you take out a loan for a car your debt is offset by the car. There’s no good measure of the value of the economy to the avg person.

The GDP is just a measure of “work done” its not a measure of the actual “car” etc we’re paying for. The problem is the government and corporate america are slowly firing all the people that create real, valuable products and replacing it with slop, police state bullshit and outright fraud.

So instead of getting houses, groceries and gas etc for this debt we’re getting “financial products”, “ai”, price fixing, corporate collusion, private prisons and other things that kind of inflate corporate value while average people see no real world returns on the spending

Richest country in the world turns out to mean that a burger and beer plus tax and tip is 50 bucks. But our education, health care and infrastructure is a global embarrasment. And we are the ones driving the equivalent of ladas now. Russians now drive posh chinese cars, which we dont sell here because itd destroy our domestic market overnight. Its all a big joke.
