Meta’s Muse Image tool allows anyone to tag your public profile in a prompt and generate AI images using your photos. This can include your face, your likeness, and other people who appear in your photos, including children with no power of consent. You don’t get asked first. And, according to Meta’s own policy(new window), you don’t get told after either: “You will not be notified about content created using AI features at Meta."

Instagram is extremely popular. At least here in my region.

Short form videos are extremely addictive. Once the algorithm knows what engages you, it is difficult to stop. And for people who used to use Facebook or who used to use the image sharing on Instagram, meta already knows what to serve them. If people only just try it once, maybe out of curiosity, maybe because someone shared a link, they will have a hard time stopping.

Normal algorithmic feeds are bad enough. But short form videos are on a whole different level.

LPT: You can get rid of the algorithm on youtube by turning your watch history off. You’ll still get your subscription feed but no recommendations feed. Just because addictive things exist doesn’t mean you have to become or stay an addict.

What the fuck ever your reasoning is…anyone active on meta platforms, twitter or Reddit is directly supporting oligarchy.

Fuck that. Fuck them. And Fuck you.
