It litterally makes a divide between those who vote D, and those who vote D but admit they are evil too. That drives more people to not vote D.

The point was that thier impact is orders of magnitude more then the few people who the posts OP referred to might sway. So the real impact of ops post is to split up people who support the same overall goals, not to stop people from being convinced not to vote.
