I have vivid dreams sometimes and a nightmare will stick with me for a long time, especially if it wakes me up

last night was one of those dreams

I was at work getting close to closing up for the night, it was dark outside. I was the last one to leave. My computer opened up a Copilot screen asking why I wasn’t engaging with it. I ignored it and screens from other computers started lighting up with messages that it knew I was there and it wanted an answer. Lights were flickering on and off and the electric doors wouldn’t open. It started pretending it was going to wipe my servers if I didn’t engage with it. I started to cover up webcams but it would show me videos on screens that it was watching me. The graphics looked like early 90s Wired magazines. The screens it would show me of wiping my servers looked like old DOS formatting, so I knew it was just fucking with me but I couldn’t leave because of the magnetic door locks.

ugh I can’t even escape this bullshit in my sleep 😫👎

Lucky. My dreams always put me in a school set around 2010 give or take a few years. Dreamland never lets me play with the tech stuff.

My dreams are also usually set around my school years, typically high school even though it was long ago at this point. I’ve never really had a memorable dream involving servers

That would be such a great concept for a short horror story or short film. Do you mind if I use it as a prompt?

(Just for art stuff, probably won’t post anything publicly or and def won’t seek any money for it but I love the idea and would love to work with it)

I’ve saved the post so I can remember its origin when I finish whatever I do!

I finally finished my professional designation and am excited to get back into all the things I enhoyed before including horror writing :)
