And it’s been like five years and they still haven’t fixed this! Remember the Republicans switched the states water source to save money. Poisoned their whole fucking state. Years later and they are still drinking and covering everything in tainted water…

Same story in Iowa. They keep repealing clean water legislation so big ag gets to directly pollute our water sources with zero repercussions.

Our cancer rates are skyrocketing and the nitrate levels are so high the tap water is undrinkable, and the state (and most of the citizenry) just pretend it’s not happening.

yeah…just like the “all hands on deck” response to the one town there that still can’t drink the water after god knows how many years.

Flint, Michigan? The water has met lead level standards since 2016, and they finished replacing residential lead pipes last year.

It is like that in most American of places. Areas where water is provided by a for profit corporation.

It’s a global problem. European cities have horrible lead problems too in their old buildings, France is especially bad because it’s illegal to renovate the old buildings. Lead in our water is a global health crisis and leaders of the world seem to give zero fucks

Is it allowed to reline the lead pipes with PET at least? These liners aren’t perfect, but they are a huge improvement over bare lead. These liners have an 80% reduction in lead ingestion. This process wouldn’t involve cutting into walls or replacing the lead. I just don’t know how broad the definition of “renovate” is here.
