Why aren’t the pro-brexit people being shamed? Stripped of their wealth and made to spend the rest of their miserable lives doing community service?

Sometimes I still see job postings that are like “MUST KNOW OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING” and I’m wondering who in 2026 isn’t at least passably familiar with it.
But then again I also see job posts that are like “must know Java or JavaScript”

I feel sorry for you and hope you cna find more fulfilling work that will let you grow, but I dont’t know what the job market is like right now
Where I work, there’s really no emphasis on code quality or testing. There’s also like no mentorship or senior developers leading the way.
They hired a guy with 1-2 years of experience and I feel really bad for him. Not only is he learning very little, he’s learning actively bad patterns. No one is teaching him about automated testing. Code reviews are just “you skim it. Don’t spend more than 30 minutes”.
Management of course loves LLMs and wants more usage.
It’s wild to me how some places I’ve worked are like locked down, all the infrastructure is in terraform or whatever and can be deployed immediately… and other places are like “ssh into prod with the credentials from confluence, edit the config in vim, and paste the new code into a new file”

The right wing are bad people and we need to stop pretending it’s just a difference of opinion. They in several fundamental ways suck.
And yet everyone’s all like “oh Goebbels was a gifted marketer and father we can’t say mean things”. Fuck 'em. They can choose to stop being shit any time they want. Until then, they deserve nothing but scorn.

Sometimes people are my old job post AI stuff and I just tell them “stop using the lie machine”
Oh yeah, every time I talk about king’s IT, I go “It’s great except that one scene, right?” and anyone who’s read it agrees.
There are some people who want to be wealthy to the tune of flaunting it, making other people figuratively or literally bow down to them. Those people should not be allowed to have power.
If I was somehow a billionaire, I like to think I’d be spending my money on socially useful stuff. More libraries. More infrastructure. Housing. Can an ultra rich person essentially run public housing and transit, at least on a city-wide scale? Probably. but the kind of person who gets to be ultra rich is probably an asshole.
Okay? Some games even with the difficulty set to minimum are too much for people. I’m glad you found a way to have fun (unless you went into multiplayer with cheats, in which case shame.)
But they did implement it in another way: spirit ashes, NPC summons, player summons, getting a big ass shield, etc.
Many people hit a wall in elden ring and go “fuck it, I’m using the mimic tear.”. That’s essentially turning the difficulty down, except in-game and not through a menu.
I think insisting that difficulty options must exist at the meta game level in a menu is a very narrow vision of how challenge and difficulty can be.
Yep.
Management is often out of touch and full of shit
